At First People Solutions, we take great pride in our apprentices and enjoy spending time and resources developing their talents from day one. Our office environment is comfortable, relaxed, and supportive. Our recent apprentice Andrew joined our administration team in March 2023 and has excelled in his role and position within the team. This article will be all things Andrew, sharing his experience as an apprentice at FPS!

Meet Andrew!

Describe a typical day in your current role at FPS.

My typical day involves noting down all tasks that need to be completed for the day and creating a plan for how best to tackle them. I then work through the list while also helping others whenever possible.

Tell us something about your team?

I am part of a fantastic team who have allowed me to gain many new skills and who encourage me to continue to learn many tasks within my job role. My team have made me feel comfortable and helped me fit in with everyone since I started my apprenticeship, which has allowed me to focus on learning all the skills necessary for my job role. Anytime I need help or I am struggling with an issue I know I can count on my team to help.

What part of your current role do you find most enjoyable?

Within my current role, I have enjoyed learning about the company and all the different aspects within the business whilst developing my skills. I feel like there is still a lot more to learn within FPS, I look forward to enhancing my skill set whilst working alongside my colleagues.

Why did you decide to apply for an apprenticeship?

I applied for an apprenticeship because I thought it was the best way for me to progress my career, which it has been. It’s been a brilliant way to learn new skills while working alongside experienced administrators and getting used to working within a busy workplace environment, whilst gaining valuable experience.
