The Management Team

Our Management Team combine a plethora of industry and recruitment experience, allowing them to lead by example at the top of our company structure. Really, it’s no wonder they have been showered with awards over the years.

John Scott Managing Director

Prior to his 15-year (and counting) career in technical recruitment, John jam-packed his resume with engineering experience in the automotive and aviation industries – which he garnered across the globe.

During his time with FPS, John founded our aviation brand and continues to push us to the forefront of recruitment in the technical, engineering and construction markets.

In 2009, his success culminated in the Recruitment Manager of the Year award.  He was appointed Managing Director of FPS in 2010.

Scott Morrison Director

Scott has amassed over 20 years of recruitment experience in the construction, consultancy, energy and EPC sectors. He also has experience in the acquisition and subsequent management and merger of technical recruitment agencies.

Having previously worked as a Recruitment Consultant with an excellent reputation for both achieving targets and maintaining clients relationships, it was only natural for Scott to utilise his talent and experience in a directorial role. He has since developed successful recruitment teams and continued to make FPS the go-to recruitment agency in our specialist sectors.

He is enthusiastic about the company’s Trainee and Apprenticeship scheme, and ensures that our Trainees benefit from the correct development strategies throughout their early career with FPS.



Rebecca Anderson Associate Director

In many ways, Rebecca is the archetype for what we strive to be at FPS. She is energised by being in and around an environment of people. Alongside her BA Hons in Communication, her coming from a family of engineers and people-centric personality make her a natural leader in FPS.

After joining the FPS group in 2004, Rebecca worked her way up the ranks, totting up an impressive list of awards on her way. Among her awards are: Best Support Staff 2004, Director’s Recognition Award in 2007 and Best Temp Scottish Recruitment Consultant in 2009
Now an Associate Director, she is of paramount importance on continuing our success as a company.



Chris Muir Associate Director

Chris joined First People Solutions as a Trainee Consultant, having gained just under a year of experience beforehand in the oil and gas market. He quickly shot up the ladder due to the passion for his work and his development of strong relationships with some of the industry’s leaders. He is now manager of the technical division in our specialist recruitment agency.

Chris has become the go-to-guy for oil and gas, pharmaceutical and petrochemical companies throughout Scotland and Ireland. He works very closely with his clients and candidates as he exhibits a total determination to succeed. This has afforded FPS a trustworthy and reliable reputation in his industries.

Along with the management team at FPS, Chris is always interested in hearing from individuals that have the drive and determination to succeed—particularly in the science or engineering and design.



Kelly Biggart Divisional Manager, Aviation

Kelly had gained 2-years of experience in the aviation market before joining FPS as a recruitment consultant in 2007. From here, she continued to garner a comprehensive understanding of the industry. With her invaluable industry knowledge, she now heads the aviation department as Divisional Manager.

Despite being involved in recruitment accounts across the team, it was her work with a major European airline that led to major plaudits. As well as growing the account substantially, to our benefit, her work with this airline also landed her the Volume Recruitment Consultant Award at the 2010 Scottish Recruitment Awards.



John Hailstone Chairman

John has spent 30 years in the recruitment industry in a number of consulting and directorship roles. He is the majority shareholder of our recruitment group and the main driver behind the development of our specialist group model.

John supports and advises the FPS board on all strategic and business planning matters—areas where his considerable experience is invaluable. He oversees the delivery of services, from myBPOS to FPS, as well as other group companies for legal, finance, banking, HR and IT infrastructure.


As well as being overtly experienced, John also has a keen eye for detail and is incredibly passionate about great service and collaborative working both in and outside the group.



Lesley Taylor Finance Director

Lesley is a longstanding member of the team, having well over a decade in her role as Finance Director. Her responsibilities within the recruitment agency group include finance, operations & IT. She also leads an outstanding team at myBPOS. myBPOS is the groups processing company that ensures the smooth running of the UK and overseas operations at FPS, which makes Lesley an important colleague.

Lesley is a shareholder of Compello, having overseen three multi-million pound acquisitions for the group. She has a passion for developing efficiencies and improving the processes of FPS, making us even more potent as a recruitment partner.




At FPS, we don’t solely value experience- we also consider apprentices to be a huge part of our success.

Our Engineering Recruitment Agency is proud to support the Modern Apprenticeships scheme by way of recruiting two trainee resources each year. These apprenticeships offer young, talented people the chance to gain experience from a variety of job roles, while being guided through their progression by a more experienced member of staff. This is an effective way of acquiring staff, but also demonstrates our commitment to offering young people a chance.

In doing this, apprentices will work towards their VQ in Business and Administration L3. Modules include project management, document production, customer service, communications and IT. Our past apprentices have demonstrated the enthusiasm, drive, and flexibility that is required in the working world. We are delighted to have offered them a chance.
