First People Solutions are on the lookout for an experienced Project Planner to join our Dublin-based client. This role will entail a mixture of site-based, office-based and at home working.

Our client is a global engineering and project management consultancy serving market-leading companies in the advanced technology industries around the world. They deliver projects across the complete engineering and construction value chain from feasibility studies and concept design right through to construction, installation, commissioning, validation and qualification; as well as client side technical services. Their focus is on the semiconductor, pharmaceuticals, data centre and advacned manufacturing industries.

Position Summary:

This role is for a Planner – Tool Install Design (large-scale semiconductor manufacturing facility) with 5 to 10 years’ experience in the construction and ideally semiconductor industry. The Planner responsible for aspects of schedule, including updates, providing work metrics, work lookaheads etc for all defined areas.

This role can be taken on as either a contract or permanent appointment.

Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities

  • Updating project schedule on a regular basis
  • Compiling work metrics from project schedule
  • Providing work lookaheads/forecasts
  • Interfacing with Project Managers on schedule issues
  • Providing ad-hoc schedule reports as required to support the Project

Education & Experience:

  • A BS Degree in Construction Management or Engineering is preferred along with minimum of 5 years’ experience scheduling in medium to large-sized construction environments.
  • Proven experience in project schedule management, overseeing the development of project schedules, and a proven track record of managing and integrating schedule data within complex programs is required.
  • An overall understanding of the design, engineering procurement, and construction management phases associated with delivering large projects.
  • This position requires an in-depth knowledge of Primavera P6, data management, and an understanding of typical construction sequencing and logic.
  • Candidate must have proficiency in a window-based environment and software (Word, PowerPoint, Project, advanced Excel).
  • They will have experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple customers and stakeholders.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency with Primavera P6
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project
  • Microsoft Excel to a reasonably advanced level
  • Must be a “team player”. There is a large team on the project and there will be much interface with other members of the team
  • Good communicator both written and verbal
  • Technically competent on civil, structural, architectural construction methods.
  • Participation in and provision of technical & constructability input to Design Reviews
  • Strong field presence.
  • Ability to prioritise issues

Other:

Working hours: 40+ hours, Monday to Friday
