Job Title: Project Manager (Rail)

First People Solutions are currently working alongside a leading international project and programme management consultancy to recruit for an ambitious Project Manager to join their busy Birmingham office to work as part of their busy Infrastructure division.

Due to the success of the firm, they have established strong working relationships with a broad range of rail and infrastructure clients across the UK and Internationally. With multiple projects being won across the UK, the Birmingham office has taken lead on the delivery of the firm’s rail services and has successfully created a high profile and strong reputation for their provision of high quality services.

The Job

The main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing support to the team lead on all business issues including business development, client management and bid writing
  • Reporting on the performance of projects in accordance with the company standards and the allocated timescales and ensuring any issues of performance are resolved
  • Administering and guiding the change control of projects, gaining agreement from commercial managers
  • Ensuring the projects comply with H&S and environmental regulations
  • Managing and delivering the projects to time, cost and quality targets
  • Ensure that the projects deliver the required products at each stage of the project lifecycle, to the required standard of quality and time constraints

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will ideally possess the following skills and experience:

  • Degree qualified or hold significant experience within a project management role
  • Hold a professional membership with a recognised professional institution e.g RICS or APM
  • Strong record of delivering effective project management services in the rail sector
  • Previously provided project management assistance at various stages of the project life-cycle
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to listen and understand client requirements
  • Strong organisational skills including; arranging and accurately recording project meetings as well as the control of project documentation

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance.
