Due to continuous growth within one of our clients work scope – First People Solutions are seeking a Multi Utility Supervisor to assist in managing an increased work load within very busy Utilities / Multi Utilities projects throughout Central Scotland/Glasgow.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of supervising onsite works and will preferably have skills, knowledge and experience of Multi Utility Installation with significant experience on either gas or Water.

Main responsibilities are as follows (but not limited to):

  • Ensuring work being undertaken is in accordance with RA-MS and does not commence until briefed to all operatives
  • Have an understanding of the Company Health & Safety Policy and ensure it is complied with
  • Work in a safe manner and do not remove any guards or machine safety devices or take unnecessary risks
  • Co-operate with others and co-ordinate work so as to ensure the Health and Safety of construction workers and others who may be affected by the works
  • Keep working areas and welfare facilities in a clean, tidy and safe condition at all times
  • Actively engage in all competency and Technical Audits under WIRS/GIRS/NERS requirements
  • Provide proof of training for all methods and equipment when requested
  • Promote safe working by setting an example to all operatives
  • Carry out weekly diary and tracking sheets, along with site inspections
  • Have an understanding of the WIRS/GIRS/NERS Manual and procedures for work being carried out and ensure implemented on-site
  • Check own competence
  • Ensure all new employees are taught in the correct and safe manner to complete tasks
  • Report to Project Manager any defects in tools, equipment and PPE
  • Notify Project Manager of any defects with works carried out
  • Report to Project Manager any obvious risks
  • Give clear instructions regarding quality and safety of works being undertaken
  • Ensure all operatives receive correct PPE and equipment for the tasks being completed
  • Report all incidents and accidents to Team Leader immediately
  • Attend further training as identified during Role Competency Interview.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Multi utility Sector

Preferred (Not all essential)

  • NCO (W)/(G) Level 3 or similar
  • EUSR SHEA (Water/Gas/power)
  • EUSR National Water Hygiene Card
  • Scottish Water DOMS Modules – General Awareness, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 11, 12 & 13
  • NRSWA Operative
  • CSCS
  • CAT & Genny Trained
  • First Aid
  • Manual Handling
  • SCMC (required to fulfil position of CP or SCP within CRMC scope only)
  • EUSR Registration as CP or SCP (required to fulfil position of CP or SCP within CRMC scope only)
