Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will manage the utilities/civil/construction teams onsite – utilising best practise, establishing standard policies and procedures whilst mentoring and leading the delivery teams alike to support all civil/construction activities on site. This will include a focus on taking responsibility for and managing the delivery of all site activities, actively seeking commercial opportunities to create and develop income potential and setting Health and Safety standards, ensuring these standards are met at all times.

How you will make a difference:

  • Prepare business plans to develop the function and participate in procurement bids and quotations when required
  • Effectively and efficiently manage the production of the required daily/weekly/monthly targets in line with customer specifications
  • Meeting quality and delivery expectations, minimising costs where possible and ensuring best working practices are maintained always
  • Monitor and report internal KPI’s to the Operations Manager on a weekly basis, taking proactive action where required to resolve challenges and keep senior management informed
  • Drive Health and Safety at every opportunity
  • Regularly ensure all jobs are closed, all documentation is checked and signed off before any paperwork is reviewed
  • Communicate and liaise with other delivery managers and functions regarding forward work projections to ensure NPT targets are met
  • Drive process improvements by appropriate data analysis
  • Represent the client professionally at all times
  • Produce written reports and make presentations when required
  • Perform root cause analysis, resolve problems and carry out lessons learned to ensure team competency continues to grow
  • Conduct risk assessments of tasks within the delivery stream
  • Manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives, and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
  • Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the vision and values and the standards and behaviours expected of them
  • Communicate Objectives from the Operational Business Plan so that each employee is aware

What you will bring:

  • Relevant technical qualifications is preferred, or HND, BTec Professional Level Award or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualifications
  • Management experience
  • Site delivery experience
  • Experience of managing Profit & Loss responsibilities
  • Understanding of engineering reliability techniques and applications
  • Valid UK driving licence
