The Company

First People Solutions are working with a well established company onn various water projects throughout the country. They are looking for a Communications manager to add to their team to manage communications internally.

The Job

Working out of the office in Stepps. The Communications Manager is responsible for managing internal and external communications across the company. The principal duties include:

  • Work with the COO to translate corporate strategy and, to develop and implement innovative communications strategies and plans that develops the company’s voice, reinforces our values and helps deliver business plans
  • Establish a regular cadence of relevant, easily accessible, content through various communication channels including intranet, SharePoint, Yammer, emails, newsletters and other publications, as well as website, social media and other external outlets
  • Coordinate with the broader organisation to ensure message alignment and integration across multiple topics and channels and escalates critical decisions to reach alignment
  • Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Increase site and office staff engagement through the creation and execution of compelling internal communication initiatives, that motivates our team, nourishes our culture, to deliver business results
  • Support external communications and community engagement activities, including support for key campaigns and activities (such as award submissions) as required
  • Plan and manage the delivery of key corporate initiatives, such as events, and other campaigns
  • Write content and create visuals for employee communications including email announcements, internal newsletters, and presentations, to be delivered across a variety of channels
  • Create a library of professional quality materials and content, (including project case studies, video, photography and other digital assets) for use across multiple channels. This includes working with internal and external teams, designers and stakeholders and supporting the management of logistics
  • Manage suppliers, invoicing, payments, and other administrative responsibilities

The Candidate

  • Experience within a similar role delivering internal communication strategies and using a variety of communication channels
  • Excellent written communication skills, understands what makes good content, and how to create and curate it
  • High level of educational achievement
  • Excellent IT skills in Sharepoint and other cloud-based applications, MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and social media including Yammer
  • Experience in managing events like leadership conferences, town halls and webcasts
  • Experience working with agencies, graphic designers and other creative support
