First People Solutions are currently working with a leading Electrical Engineering company who are looking to bring on board an Automation Engineer who has strong programming experience.

This role is with a well-established and highly reputable company who have built an excellent reputation in their markets.

The role:

  • Report to the Managing Director all aspects of allocated contract design, engineering progress and programme activities.
  • Work in accordance with the implemented IMS procedures and work instructions, assisting with its continual development.
  • Communicate and attend supplier & customer premises as necessary to gain the information to prepare design documents.
  • Contract review, handover from the Estimator detailing the contract project number, orders scope of supply, preliminary labour, material, design and programme workings & allowances and any deviations or special requirements.
  • Preparation, review and submission of all design documentation in compliance with the quotation and contract requirements
  • Preparation, review and submission of material requisition lines in accordance to design, quotation and contract requirement
  • Contract review, handover to the allocated Supervisor detailing the orders scope of supply, specific design documentation, labour, material and time allocations within include any changes, deviations or special requirements.
  • Ongoing day-to-day management, supervision, co-ordination and progression of all contract activities to comply with the IMS and H&S requirements, minimising or mitigating any negative environmental impact of business activities until completion.
  • Attend weekly and periodic business review meetings for the effective management of business activities.
  • Maintain, develop and promote the business in line with stated policies, objectives, accreditation and certification.

Your skills and experience:

  • Previous experience as an Electrical designer, experience of commissioning activities would be beneficial
  • Ideally you will have experience of Siemens TIA or Allen Bradley software applications
  • Strong Electrical background, ideally holding a current grade card
  • Full Driving licence is essential
