The Company

First People Solutions are currently recruiting an Account Manager on behalf of a leading supplier of safety construction products and services based in Glasgow.

Our client provide products (PPE, Signage, Site Equipment), technical support and after sales care within the construction industry.

The principle market sectors in which they operate are Local Authorities, Utilities, Civils & Infrastructure, Highways & Traffic, Construction & Built Environment, Merchants & Distribution, Rail, and Industrial.

The Job

As an Account Manager you will be responsible for maintaining and developing a customer portfolio with a keen focus on new business and account management.

Your duties will include but not limited to:

  • Manage a customer portfolio of key accounts and specialist projects and ensure that all targets are achieved.
  • Offer full support to our BDM on PQQs, Tenders and Major Projects that benefit our business.
  • Work closely with our Business Unit Manager, BDM and Marketing Manager to ensure that we are targeting the right customers with offers, promotions, clearances and special offers.
  • Manage all your customer activity via our CRM system to ensure that all relevant data and information is captured as well as maintaining your pipeline of opportunities.
  • Participate in Networking at industry events and exhibitions to benefit our business.
  • Complete a winning works summary on a monthly basis that contributes towards our board report and quarterly business review submissions.

The Candidate

The successful Account Manager candidate shall be career minded, as our client likes to promote from within the organisation.

As an Account Manager you will have experience working within the construction industry and have the following skills:

  • Detailed knowledge of sales
  • Experience in building relationships at all levels to drive our business forward
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Good time management and planning skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • Team player
  • IT skills, CRM and design software experience are essential
