On Friday 27th September, we took part in Macmillan Cancer Support’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’.

What is the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’?

Macmillan hold their ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ annually in an effort to raise money for cancer patients and their families.  Their reasoning behind holding the coffee mornings is;

‘Having one is the perfect chance to catch up over a cuppa and a slice of something delicious for a great cause.  One in two of us will face cancer, and the money you raise at your event will help everyone with cancer to live life as fully as they can.’

The charity event has been running annually since 1990 and has evolved from a simple small-scale event, to a national community effort.

Our Event

Our coffee morning was held as one of our Fun Fridays, a day of fundraising fun! We teamed up with our next door neighbours, myBPOS, to produce a wonderful spread of cakes, biscuits, sausage rolls and more!  With such a spread available, it’s safe to say that diets were out the window and good intentions set aside.

We also held a competition to win a bottle of champagne – ‘Guess how many berries are in the pie’.  It got pretty heated in the office with claims of ‘an unfair advantage’, ‘no logic’ and ‘an impossible question’… But in the end, the winner was Administrator, Sarah Rippon – well done!

We have to admit, not much was left by 5pm and the results were spectacular.  We managed to raise £100 in total!
