FPS have compiled a list of the 5 best airshows to visit around the world.

  1. Bournemouth Air Festival, Dorset, England.

The Bournemouth Air Festival, is one of largest free annual airshows in Europe. The show combines two great things; airplanes and the beach. The four-day festival draws in large numbers of spectators each year. The dates for next year airshow are confirmed as Thursday 18th – Sunday 21st August.

  1. Reno Air Races, Reno, Nevada, USA.

Reno Air Races, is held every September. The show has a large amount of aircraft and acrobatics on display, but the star of the show is the race. Six classes of aircraft go head to head on a 3 to 8 mile race course in the sky each year, a thrilling experience that is sure to entertain all. The show is confirmed for September 14th – 18th 2016.

  1. Abbotsford Airshow, Abbotsford, Canada.

The Abbotsford Airshow, is Canada’s largest air show, it attracts more than 125,000 spectators to watch dozens of performers take the skies, including the Canadian Snowbirds, the SkyHawks parachuting team, Thunderbirds and Blue Angels. Confirmed dates for next year show are August 12th – 14th 2016.

  1. The Royal International Air Tattoo, RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire, UK.

The Royal International Air Tattoo is the world’s largest military air show. It takes place annually over the third weekend of July at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, England. The show is held in support of The Royal Air Force Charitable Trust. The event typically attracts over 150,000 spectators during the weekend. The show will take place next year on 8th-10th July 2016.

  1. EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, Oshkosh, Wisconsin, USA.

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh is the largest annual gathering of aviation enthusiasts in the US. The show has over 10,000 aircraft in attendance with a little bit of everything represented, including warbirds, home-built aircraft, ultralights and vintage planes. Last year the show attract around 500,000 spectators. 2016 dates are confirmed for the 25th-31st of July.
